Meet Lori

I’m Lori Streator and I help people just like you live the healthy, happy lives they desire. I believe life is meant to be lived with joy & ease, and there’s no reason to keep getting caught up & losing yourself in this fast-paced world. Our lives matter, and my mission is to walk with my clients through a physically & emotionally, life-changing experience.

I know firsthand how important it is to make wellness a priority. But as a mom and business owner, I also know how challenging it can be.

The power to change starts from within.

When you’re determined, you can make anything happen.

If you’ve made the decision that you matter, you now have a place to surround yourself with what you need to move forward. It’s all here for you.

I believe self-limiting beliefs are standing in the way and holding you back from living in a body and life you love.

My Story

I was always active & full of energy, but could also sit with a pile of books and read for hours. And, several decades later, I’m still that same active, book-loving girl. It’s amazing how innocent childhood passions evolve over the years and how mine have brought me to the place I am now. When I was little, I wanted to be a gymnast. Though that dream didn’t happen, I do get to use my high energy in my life and business.

When I was a young teen, I had a very good friend who was placed in a detention facility for about a year. When he was released, the therapy he received  while detained made such an impact on his life that I decided, at 15 years old, to become a therapist.

I made many questionable decisions in high school – partied too much, obsessed over my body image, lost myself in toxic relationships, & learned a lot of lessons the hard way. I had zero self worth and no clue what it meant to love myself. After high school I went to college, cleaned up my act and went on to complete a Master’s in counseling. I’ve been in the field of psychology for over 10+ years and now hold the highest license possible for my degree.

In my early & mid 20s I pursued goals that had been nagging at my soul; things I had always wanted to do but were way out of my comfort zone. I competed in kickboxing, traveled and began to let go of the relationships that were sucking the life out of me. After I met my husband in 2008 and had my son in 2011, I began to focus on my health. While navigating postpartum struggles, I completed Personal Training and Nutrition Specialist certifications and began writing a blog, aptly named Sweatpants and Superfoods. Along the way I learned the importance of building healthy habits over ridiculous restrictions, and that living a healthy lifestyle wasn’t as far off as it seemed. As I was making changes in my own life I began to help others do the same and there was a shift in my blog and in my vision – My passion for wellness became a business I loved and I made the decision to create Breakthrough Mind & Body in early 2014.

Over the past few years I’ve helped clients all over the world create shifts in their life; including improve their health, lose the physical and emotional weight that has held them back in the past, overcome self limiting beliefs, and work toward the goals they’ve been longing to achieve.

When my mom passed away in October 2015, it reinforced how important health and wellness is, and that my mission is as strong as ever. When I could’ve laid in bed feeling sorry for myself, I decided to show up for life. When we’re faced with life-altering events, we can choose to be a victim or we can choose to be a force. While I still grieve, cope and manage my own wellness, I have the understanding that I decide how my story continues.

My mission is to help others understand that when you change your mind, you can change your life. Instead of procrastinating, caving into fear or staying stuck in a place you don’t want to be, I’m here to help you rewrite your story and move forward to a place of self love and genuine happiness.
